Synopsis:
A successful journalist, Anjali (Anushka Sharma) lives with her conservative mother who despises her relationship with a married man, Raj, a much younger man. The New York Stock Exchange is not a necessary party under Rule 19(a) because the action does not arise 'out of any transaction, occurrence, or series of transactions or occurrences' involving the New York Stock Exchange. Our long-term objective is to elucidate the molecular mechanisms underlying the regulation of the dopamine (DA) transporter (DAT) in the brain. Studies of the DAT are important for the development of better drug therapies for the treatment of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, alcoholism, and schizophrenia. The DAT plays a key role in terminating DA release in the brain. Importantly, the DAT is a site of action for psychostimulants such as amphetamine and cocaine. Many of these drugs are used to treat psychiatric disorders, yet these drugs act only on the DAT, causing widespread increases in DA levels in the brain. A better understanding of the DAT regulation in the brain may help to better understand the molecular mechanisms of drug action.
